What is Anxiety?

There are specific anxiety disorders such as:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Social Anxiety

  • Panic Disorder (Panic Attacks)

And although it is not an Anxiety Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has similarities to an Anxiety Disorder in that it includes fearfulness, intrusive thoughts, avoidance of stressors and sometimes panic attacks.

Sometimes there is just a feeling of anxiety that seems to impact us in our daily lives such as obsessive thoughts, fearfulness, nervousness, and stress that causes physical problems such as high blood pressure, dizziness, digestive issues, anxiety attacks, etc.

Whether you are diagnosed with an anxiety disorder or are just experiencing anxiety symptoms, it can feel very lonely when we are struggling with anxiety and are unsure of how to move forward.
